HOME!!!!!!

my honey is home- now for a few days of adjusting to what we can and can't do and the best way to arrange the furniture so we can get around and with any luck, I will be able to put a bit of weight on my foot so I can get in my studio so I can bead!!  We already had someone pull all our throw rugs and move a couple pieces of furniture to back room which we can't use because of steps down into it so shouldn't be too bad.  Neighbor coming Wednesday to put grab bars in the bathroom so that will be easier for both of us.. now on to the daunting task of trying to line up rides for our post op and pt appts.... ahhh but it could be a lot worse...we are together for Christmas so that is our gift!!

He's coming home!

Bill may be able to come home next Monday afternoon.  We have to get rides to the VA hospital every day though for PT.  Not as easy as it sounds- he can't bend his leg and is in a wheelchair.  Trying to figure out how we will do this, but so happy he is coming home.  Things will get on a bit more normal keel around here :)

going to get in the swing of things if it kills me :)

ok.... my timing always seemed to be off, so why should I  be surprised that my attempt at blogging is any different??

Now that I have had surgery - 2 plates and numerous pins, screws, etc. in my ankle, and a few days of percocet fog, I should be able to start getting into some sort of a routine around here.. mind you interrupted by all the things that.. oops... I can't quite do this, or I can't quite do that...., but I am going to attempt to get myself situated on the WWW as much as possible because I can get to the laptop from my pillow covered bed. ( pillows for elevating the ankle)
Hubby is doing much better too, but, partially because I am so limited on what I can do, and partially because in 1940 when this house was built, doorways were narrower and there was no concern when they added on if there was a step or not, I don't think he can come home right away.when he does come home, he will be limited to 2 or 3 rooms of the house for a while.  At least with my walker, I can sidestep into the narrow rooms, and my left leg is going to be super strong with the hops into higher or lower rooms.  This whole thing may be a good excuse to get my sister B back into beading because I will need help getting things out and putting them away.  I have a small bedroom for my studio and it is literally floor to ceiling with everything.  I'm pretty good at waist to head right now, but can't climb or reach well on 1 foot... going to be interesting...

I am anxiously awaiting my first blog challenge.. I should be receiving it in the mail this week.  Then I need to get going on the beadsoup challenge... I know what my theme will be, just need to think about it and decide where I want to go with it.  I am really looking forward to getting creative after about a  month's forced  hiatus.

remember everyone that when I get to 500 likes on my facebook page, I am doing a drawing for a custom wire wrap piece... spread the love... send my site to your friends.....

all for now... see ya on the flip side.

It has been a really rough few days.  Bill is finally in a rehab facility at the VA complex.  He is off oxygen and starting to gain strength and heal.  I had my ankle reconstructed yesterday and am a bit "loopy" from the painkillers, but because they had to put a second plate in, I was told to not worry about that,  I need to get the pain under control so I can start healing.  Once I can cut back to 1 pill every 4 hrs instead of 2 every 4, I will be able to start getting a few little things done around here.

didn't drop off face of earth

No, I didn't drop off the face of the earth--- Hubby and I had to lay our motorcycle down to avoid hitting a big F-150 pickup broadside.  Truck turned in front of us and stopped dead crossways in our lane.  Hubby is still in hospital and I have to find out Monday when I will be back in hospital for surgery on my nonexistent ankle.  I broke it in all 3 places it could be broken-- I can honestly say I have seen an ankle do things it shouldn't.  It was wobbling around like a wet noodle.  I was the lucky one-- I bailed so the bike didn't land on me, but ended up with bruised ribs, a grapefruit sized elbow and a crushed ankle.  My poor hubby, who is disabled due to reduced lung capacity, COPD, asthma, etc, is in rough shape.  He bruised his bad lungs, heart, broke 6 ribs, compound fracture of one leg and broken toe on other leg.  He is in the hospital and will be for some time.  they operated on the leg and have him in a full leg brace- ankle to thigh. Due to the lung problems, they are having to keep him on oxygen constantly.  If I am a bit scarce for the next few weeks, I hope you all understand....

today's quote

from John F. Kennedy---
The Chinese use 2 brush strokes to write the word crisis. 1 brush stroke for  danger; the other for  opportunity.  In a crisis, be aware of the danger - but recognize the opportunity.

normally I wouldn't "spam" anyone with something like this, but I have received 1 check and have a second check coming in February for things I was going to buy anyway.  I buy my vitamins from Puritan's Pride and I get a discount and rebate going through this site.  We just made a large purchase through overstock.com and I have almost 60.00 in my account with a mail date of February based on this one sale alone.  I have not had a single problem with them other than a lot of emails which can just simply be deleted.  I would recommend them to anyone :)  (and they have a promo running where if you use my link, it adds a bit to my Feb check ;) what do you have to lose??)

Still in shock

I got a call a couple hours ago.  I am still in shock that she had the nerve to ask me to have a jewelry party for her catalog company.  She knows I make and sell jewelry.  What would my friends think if I invited them to a jewelry party and the jewelry wasn't mine??  What WAS she thinking?????  Is my jewelry not good enough?? I just can't believe it.

from my daughter's collection

My daughter and I both like to collect inspirational sayings.  She posted this on my facebook timeline for me and it really hit home.  Dedicated to all the creative people out there.

"You may not be a Picasso or Mozart but you don't have to be. Just create to create. Create to remind yourself you're still alive. Make stuff to inspire others to make something too. Create to learn a bit more about yourself." -- Frederick Terral

Full steam ahead!

Church parking lot sale done (cool and many events going on). Not a good sale, but still good advertising.  Now it is on to PUSH to get as much done as possible for the Arts festival! Tablecloths to make, signs to make, more business cards to print, packing and cleaning, and of course, make as much as I can! Wish me luck! I also need to do a thorough cleaning on my house to prep it for Thanksgiving dinner.  Made my shopping list last night.  I think I will send hubby out to get it this afternoon.  That will give me a bit of quiet time to sew.  My sewing machine is on the desk, in an alcove right off the living room where he will be blasting some game or show if he is home. I also need to inventory my Christmas gifts made and purchased to figure out what I have left to do/buy.  I might be able to get most of the rest of it done at the festival this weekend if I can get hubby to cover the booth for a bit.

wish me luck

In a frazzle--- in a frazzle..... church parking lot sale Saturday and my biggest art fair ever next Saturday and Sunday.... Add to that stress at the full time job.....Can I get everything done?? I have lost my motivation..... and the weather is making my fibro worse so not sleeping well and in higher than normal pain.  Pray things work out.

Off to w@rk, then???

Back from my much needed long weekend without beading--- Webpage up and blog officially running so can't say without work.  Off to the job that pays my insurances, etc. (5-2) then...? Probably sewing my new tablecloths. I lucked out and found 2 more "mamaowl" panels. After all, the only show I try to watch every week is on tonight- not pre-empted by the elections. So sewing in the living room it is so I can watch Jethro, Dinozo, Abby, and crew  :)  Oh, and getting swap box 1 out and P2P swap holiday colors out on my BeadSwapUSA exchanges... Have a great day everyone!

saving the dates!

This will be my first Blog Hop!! Looking forward to it!

waking up to kitty licks

My sister's cat, Natasha, has decided she likes me.  I woke up this morning to her sleeping between my feet.  When I kicked the first foot loose of the covers, she proceeded to wash it. Same with foot #2. I then bent down to move her so I could get out of bed and got my face washed.  What a warm and welcoming wake up!  Now on to "helping" my sister get my webpage up.  Good thing she knows what she is doing- I am lost, lol

trying to clear my head

Even though I should be prepping for the big show, I am taking a small sabattical--- I am visiting with one of my sisters whom I haven't seen in 2 years.  I needed it! I am burnt out.  The job is getting to be too much and trying to do the jewelry on top, my fibro is in full gear.  Hoping this short 4 days will help recharge,  Wish me luck!

Sunday, November 4, 2012

Let's see how good I do at getting things done today.  Have a lot planned, but still NEED to get at least something done for the big show coming up..... I can do this.... I will not get exhausted and poop out in the middle of the day like usual.....Time will tell.

Prepping for a show when too busy

Ok, everyone says I should have a blog-- but I hate writing.  Things never come out like I want.  But i will give it a try.  I have the biggest (and most expensive) show I have ever done coming up in less than a month.  How do I get anything done for it?  By the time I get home from work and shovel a path through my disaster called a house, I am too pooped to pop. I am trying to force myself to do 1 item per day. oh well, it will at least mean I have lots of earrings, lol. They are the quickest things I can do.  I have a Church ride today so won't have a lot of time today either.  when I get home from that, I am going to pick up one of my ufo's(un-finished objects) and finish it for the show- then I need to straighten some in the studio.  I have creators block created by the chaos in there right now. Maybe I will have enough time to straighten it enough to actuall be able to get things done without having to spend half my time searching for something I know I have.  Wish me luck!
